Spring-clean your workspace
Cleaning up your cubicle and computer gives you the chance to get rid of all the unnecessary, backdated clutter/data. It also allows you to spend some time reviewing all the things you’ve done in the past year. Give yourself a pat on the back for all the things you’ve accomplished (and perhaps another pat for overcoming procrastination to clear all that rubbish)! A tidy workspace makes a perfect setting for clearing up your “mental” junk and fatigue too.

Avoid regular office gossip sessions
Constantly harping on negative things about co-workers and bosses is not only a waste of time, it is emotionally toxic and serves no one any good. Make it a point to walk away or change the subject when office conversations get vicious. You’ll find yourself feeling a lot less burdened by choosing not to spread the latest office scandals or unpleasantries.

Take a break from the computer regularly
Your back and shoulders are probably creaking from the punishing hours spent in front of the computer. Try to release this built-up tension by taking regular breaks – at minimum, one every two hours. If you’re the type who has a tendency of getting too caught up in your work, you may want to install a break reminder software to get you to walk and stretch more frequently.

Get new stationery
There’s just something so motivating about doing work with fresh ink and paper. With your favourite pens, markers, post-its, organizers and notebooks, it becomes so much easier (and fun!) to create to-do lists and make plans for the year ahead.

Work on a project you are passionate about
Work is never a chore when it is something we are interested in pursuing further. Rather than just receiving projects that comes your way, make it a point to let your boss know your areas of strengths and interests so that he/she can allocate you to something that you will enjoy. Even better, why not suggest some projects that you know both the employer and you will benefit from?

Use essential oils in the office
Do yourself a favour and get a mini aromatherapy air revitalizer like those offered by Conair. Inhaling the fumes from peppermint, apple and pine essential oils have been scientifically proven to help boost energy, reduce headaches and improve moods!
