How to Make Women Understand Tech: Lesson #1

Intel’s Elijah Wood TVC

Let’s face it. For many women (like me), who consider ourselves “relatively tech-savvy”, there’s a lot we don’t know, or care to know.

So it’s brilliant when a technology company like Intel simplifies its message into one easy-to-get line: “Intel’s core helps your laptop battery run much longer”.

Then it sexes up this message with a reason why you should care. “Intel’s core helps your laptop battery run much longer… so that you can watch movies without a hitch — and at such enhanced quality it’s as if Elijah Wood were sitting on your lap.”

...at such enhanced quality it’s as if Elijah Wood were sitting on your lap...

Now that’s what I call smart, effective marketing. You’ll be losing out if you didn’t make sure your laptop has an Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor.

What laptop was that again

(I could be her… What laptop was that again? Looked like a Sony VAIO. Which would be ideal, especially if she’s got the Z that’s souped up with Blu-ray, or the AW that’s built for audiovisual. Watching Elijah on a Clear Bright LCD screen has its privileges …)

Totally blown away! That is really a very simple yet strong and effective marketing. Will take this down as a case study for further learning. Thanks Theresa for sharing.
