Let’s face it — chicks look for tech stuff that really helps us to do life better (not just play World of Warcraft!). The wonderful world of 21st century technology is churning out some exciting new gadgets that are fantasies come (nearly) true!

“I can’t live without my music when traveling! I wish there were super-light, foldable speakers that I could just pack into my hand carry luggage!”

Fact: THERE ARE! The trendy 8cm-box speakers from OrigAudio (http://www.Origaudio.com) are made of eco-friendly cardboard that can be folded flat and unfolded for use, and can be plugged into any device that has a headphone jack. No external power is required and you can even design your own speakers, or choose from the cool designs offered on their website. Now you can have good sound anywhere and everywhere.
“I love my iPod Touch but I wish there was an easier way to share the photos on my phone or watch a movie without having to squint at the small screen.”

Fact: Microvision is a slim, pocket-sized projector that uses highly efficient laser light sources to display vivid images from mobile devices like phones and laptops. Now you can spontaneously project movies, photos and presentations onto empty walls, ceilings or even the backs of seats and share the information and memories with friends, family or colleagues, wherever you are.
“I wish I could charge my phone and MP3 player efficiently without having to crawl around all these wires.”

Fact: The solution would be the amazing Powermat (http://www.powermat.com/us/products/), a sleek black mat the length of a remote controller that charges your gadgets wirelessly using electromagnetic technology. It can charge up to three enabled devices at one time and is also able to charge more quickly and efficiently than normal chargers. The chunky power adapters with their messy wires can finally be kept out of sight!
“I wish making grocery lists were easier! I keep missing out on certain items because I forgot to write them down.”

Fact: No worries, all you frazzled and absent-minded people! There is now Smart Shopper, a hands-free, voice-recognition device that attaches to your fridge. While checking the grocery inventory in your fridge, you can speak into the device to add items to your grocery list. It records the items in the form of text, and then groups them according to common categories like meat, vegetables, or dairy. When it’s time to go shopping, you just have to push a button to get an organized grocery list printed out so that you know what items to pick up at each section and how much to buy.
(PS If Rachael Ray says it’s cool, we’re getting one. Check out this Rachael Ray clip on the grocery list maker!)
“I wish there was a laptop that was so flexible and light I could roll it up and stick it in my handbag.”

Fact: There might soon be one. Major companies and research institutes have already developed new technologies for full-colour OLED (organic light emitting diode) displays that can actually bend without breaking. These screens are made from razor thin plastic and are incredibly light and pliable. It is only a matter of time before the next generation of mobile devices inherit this technology and are made ultra-portable. This product in the pipeline is definitely something to get excited about if industrial designer Hao Hua’s visuals of the droolworthy D-Roll are anything to go by.
